Skills for Life is the national strategy* for improving the skills of adults in the fundamental subjects of:-

Adult Apprentices receive certificates
  • Numeracy (Maths)
  • Literacy (English)
  • Communication (Written and verbal)
  • Information technology

These are designed to provide employees, at all levels, with opportunities to brush up or develop skills. Courses can be contextualized to specific working areas within the industry and provide a practical approach to improving business performance. Individuals will also have an opportunity to gain a recognised qualification; those successfully completing tests at Level 2 in numeracy or literacy will achieve the National Certificate, a recognised equivalent to a GCSE A-C Level.

Taster sessions are available as well as full-length courses. Some government funding is available to support the delivery of this training.
